Q: What is Reiki?
A: Reiki is a natural healing method that allows you to absorb more life force energy. Rei means Universal life energy or God Consciousness and Ki means life force energy that flows through all living things. The Chinese call it Chi, Hindus call it Prana and Christians refer to it as the light. If our level of life force energy is low we may become physically or emotionally ill. The laying on of hands of the attuned Reiki Master directs the healing energy into the body of the receiver.
Reiki is not religiously based albeit this practitioner does believe that the powerful energy she channels comes from God. Reiki usually helps healing of all kinds and relieves pain and acute symptoms very quickly. Reiki affects each person in a unique way, but it always acts wherever the receiver needs it and can not do harm. There are common effects that nearly everyone experiences. Energy used up in everyday life is replaced and a profound state of relaxation is received. For example, if you suffer from daily stress you may suffer from headaches, gastrointestinal problems or insomnia to name a few. These symptoms are expressions of an imbalance of the energy systems. Reiki helps us to restore our energy balance thereby enhancing the overall immune system. Reiki often acts very quickly to ease pain and accelerate healing but is not a substitute for medical care. You should always seek the advice from a Medical doctor in conjunction with your Reiki Therapy.
Q: Who is Reiki Appropriate For?
A: Children, adults, the elderly, pets, and hospice patients can all benefit from Reiki treatment. People with acute injuries, chronic illness, chronic pain and grief almost always see tremendous improvement, even after just one session.
